Food: green chicken
Not only is this one of my favorite chicken recipes but it is super easy to cook. The fact that it looks green also adds to the glam!
So you will be needing,
1 whole chicken cut up into small pieces :: 1 onion thinly sliced
6/7 garlic cloves :: 1" ginger :: 1/2 a bunch cilantro :: 1/2 a bunch mint :: 3/4 green chili
1 tsp coriander seeds :: 1 tsp cumin seeds :: 1/2 tsp garam masala powder :: 1/2 cup oil
Before you start the cooking process, wash the chicken pieces and let them drain all the excess water out. Otherwise there will be no color on the chicken. Then heat oil in a wok and fry the onions till they are golden brown.
Then toss in the chicken pieces and fry the chicken pieces until they have a golden hue.
Blend the rest of the ingredients together except for the garam masala powder. Pour the blended liquid into the chicken and coat the chicken with it. Then sprinkle the garam masala powder and keep the pot covered in medium low heat. You will not be adding any water to the chicken. It will cook in it's own juice. This is why the temperature setting is important here. Keep stirring things around once in awhile to check if the chicken is burning. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar and some more green chilis before you turn the stove off.
